2nd Amendment
A well regulated Militia, being
necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and
bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
We believe in the freedom for Americans to live according to individual values, beliefs, and convictions. We support military, law enforcement, and first responders that sacrifice their life and liberties to protect and safeguard ours.
California Military & Veterans
Code
Section 122
The militia of the State consists of all able-bodied male citizens and all other able-bodied males who have declared their intention to become citizens of the United States, who are between the ages of eighteen and forty-five, and who are residents of the State, and of such other persons as may upon their own application be enlisted or commissioned therein pursuant to the provisions of this division, subject, however, to such exemptions as now exist or may be hereafter created by the laws of the United States or of this State.
(Enacted by Stats. 1935, Ch. 389.)
For a free people to remain free, they must defend themselves.
Why is the Second Amendment Important for Freedom?
We are a nation birthed from a violent, yet necessary, struggle to safeguard and enshrine our God-given liberties from a monarchal regime that sought to deprive its citizens of their fundamental and self-evident rights. Our founding fathers had the wisdom and foresight to both establish and mandate all free citizenry to have the right to keep and bear arms. This right existed for two reasons: self-defense, and to serve as a bulwark and terror against foreign and domestic enemies seeking to infringe or thwart the right of a free people to defend their lives, their property, and their fellow man.
For a free people to remain free, they must defend themselves from those seeking to do them harm whether that enemy is foreign, domestic, or tyrannical government.
Attacks on 2nd Amendment
Federal and state legislators continue to attack constitutional rights of Americans to keep and bear arms affirmed and protected the Constitution’s Second Amendment. Federal legislators and state legislators alike continue to try to restrict gun ownership as a response to their failed moral policies. We must take a stand. If we do not protect our rights to defend ourselves, we will become enslaved to a tyrannical government.
